Privacy Policy

What information we collect

• Your Google account ID and email address — provided when you sign in through the extension. Your email address is encrypted before it's stored (see below).
• A record of what you've downloaded — which items and when, whether each was a photo or video, the child profile ID and guardian account ID it came from, which nursery website you were downloading them from, and which operating system you were using, not the photos or videos themselves.
• How many photos and videos you have — a total count of each, the child profile ID, the guardian account ID, and nursery website they are from, taken each time the extension checks your account for new content to download, not the photos or videos themselves.
• If you upgrade to Premium: a Stripe reference — your Stripe customer and payment record ID, the ID of any promo code you applied, plus your Premium status and access expiry date. We never see or store your card details; Stripe handles that directly. If your payment is refunded or disputed with your bank (a chargeback), Stripe reports that to us as well.
• If you upgrade to Premium: your withdrawal-right consent — the exact wording you agreed to before paying, and when you agreed to it, so we can show it was given if that's ever needed. See our Right of Withdrawal page for what that consent covers.

How we protect your email address

Your email address is encrypted prior to storage and is not held as plain, readable text at any time, including within backups. In the event of unauthorised access to our systems, your email address would not be readable to any unauthorised party. You may still be located by email address for support purposes; however, the stored value remains encrypted at all times.

What we use it for

• Recognising you when you sign in and keeping your download count accurate.
• Enforcing the free-tier download limit, and unlocking unlimited downloads once you're on Premium.
• Distinguishing which child profile ID and which guardian account ID a download or scan belongs to, for accounts with more than one child or more than one guardian.
• Diagnosing operating-system- and nursery-website-specific issues with the extension.
• Understanding how many photos and videos accounts typically have, to help us calibrate the free-tier limit.
• Processing and confirming your one-off Premium payment through Stripe.
• Keeping the service running reliably — basic technical logs may include your Google ID, but never your photos, files, or card details.

What we don't do

• We don't show ads.
• We don't sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing or advertising.
• We don't use cookies or track individuals.
• We don't use your data for anything beyond running the service described above.

Third parties we rely on

Stripe processes all Premium payments — we never see your card details, and Stripe's own privacy policy covers that part of the process.

Famly Downloader is an independent, unofficial tool and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the nursery website it works with. It only helps you download content you already have access to inside your own account. The nursery website's own privacy policy governs how it handles your data.

How long we keep it, and your choices

We keep your Google ID and email, along with your download and scan history, for as long as you use Famly Downloader. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data at any time — just get in touch below and we'll take care of it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page occasionally as the service changes. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
