Famly Downloader is a browser extension — backed by this small service — that helps you download your child's photos and videos from your nursery website, so you don't lose access to them when your child leaves the nursery.
Famly Downloader also works with Busy Bees (app.busybees.com). Other nursery websites aren't currently supported, though that may change.
You can download up to 30 photos for free (this limit may change from time to time). Upgrading to Premium removes the limit entirely.
No — video downloads are a Premium-only feature. Upgrading to Premium unlocks video downloads.
Yes — every photo download counts toward your free-tier limit, even if it's one you've already downloaded before.
You'll need to upgrade to Premium to keep downloading. Anything you've already downloaded stays yours — you just won't be able to download anything new until you upgrade.
Premium is a one-off payment, not a subscription — it unlocks unlimited photo downloads and Premium-only video downloads for a year from your purchase date, and it never renews or bills you again automatically.

Just enough to run the service: your Google account ID and email to identify you, and a record of what you've downloaded — including whether each item was a photo or video — to enforce the free-tier limit and restrict video downloads to Premium. We also record how many photos and videos you have each time your account is checked, to help us calibrate the free tier limit. If you're on Premium, we also keep a Stripe payment reference. No. Signing in happens entirely on your nursery website's own site — Famly Downloader never sees or handles your password. The extension only works with the browser session you're already logged into.
Directly from your nursery website's own servers to your computer, using Chrome's built-in downloads feature. Our backend never receives, processes, or stores the files themselves — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what we do keep a record of.
Chrome requires extensions to declare upfront what they can access. Famly Downloader requests identity (to sign you in with Google), downloads (to save files to your computer), storage (to remember what's already been downloaded so it isn't fetched twice), and access to app.famly.co and app.busybees.com only — no other websites.
Famly Downloader downloads photos and videos directly to your device with nothing routed through a third-party server, and offers a free tier to try before a single one-off Premium payment — not a recurring subscription.
